Within the Genetics Department of the DBC there is a vacancy for the position of: The Challenge As (Associate) Scientist Bioinformatics you will represent the bioinformatics discipline within multi-disciplinary DBC project teams. Your challenge will be to model and (re)design metabolic pathways to facilitate the development of new products and improved microbial production strains and processes. From your home base in the Department of Genetics of DSM Biotechnology Center, you will participate in the application and development of metabolic pathway engineering tools and bioinformatics methods. The Ideal We are looking for professionals with an academic (PhD) in Bioinformatics, Metabolic engineering or Bioprocess modelling. Preferably, you have experience in metabolic pathway modelling / engineering with applications to microbial strain development or fermentation processes. Furthermore, you are a multidisciplinary team player, who takes initiative with good communication skills in the English and Dutch language. Personal skills like problem analysis, judgment, creativity, leadership, adaptability characterize your identity.
